Barkha Dutt quits NDTV after two decades of long journey

Journalist Barkha Dutt has parted ways with NDTV after being associated with the channel for 21 years.

Barkha tweeted, “Did my last We the People. At 16 yrs its longest running TV show which I built from scratch, won scores of awards for& am hugely proud of. It’s been a super ride at NDTV but new beginning in 2017. I shall be moving on from NDTV to explore new opportunities & my own ventures!”

She further said “As I move on after 21 Great NDTV years, a team I’m SO proud of, an Emmy Nomination & many other awards to cap it all, I count on your wishes. Hugely excited to start New Year on a new slate, diversify my interests & build my own independent projects. Watch this space for more!

NDTV in their statement wished Barkha “ all the very best” adding that her years with the channel were very productive.

Barkha has joined NDTV straight out of her college and after continuously working with the channel for 21 years she is looking forward to explore new opportunities or may be pursue other interests.

As her tweet clearly says, Barkha is working to start her own venture.  Earlier Arnab Goswami had also left TimesNow to start his own venture with the name Republic. There is a possibility to see rivalry in media in the coming future.
