After 5 months, SIT arrested a suspect affiliated with right wing in Gauri Lankesh murder case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has made the first arrest in the journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case. After 5 months, 37-year-old businessman Keti Navin Kumar has been arrested.

According to sources in the Karnataka Police Department, arrested suspect Keti Navin Kumar has given some important information to the police which could help the police in reaching the real killers. Gauri Lankesh was killed on September 5 last year.

Navin Kumar is accused of possessing illegal weapons. He was considered as the first accused in this case. DCP MN Anucheth of SIT said that the SIT has taken Navin Kumar in its custody for interrogation. Navin was arrested by a team of Crime Branch Karnataka Police on February 18 from Majestic bus stand.

In fact, SIT took custody of Navin because it was said by the friends that Navin’s could have a role in the conspiracy to kill Gauri Lankesh.

Gauri Lankesh was the editor of Weekly Magazine ‘Lankesh Patrika’. Along with that she used to write columns in newspapers and sit in TV news channel debates too. She had ideological differences with the right-wing organizations.
