AMU imposes ban on processions for ten days

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor after a consultative meeting with the university officials have imposed a ban with immediate effect on processions and marches of any kind in AMU premises for the coming ten days.

He said the step has been taken in view of the prevailing situation and a high alert issued by the government.

Notably, on January 30 the students under the banner of AMU Student Union carried out a protest march against the Kasganj violence issue.
