CBI, ED and Income tax cannot scare us, we will fight contest 2019 election strongly: Ghulam Nabi Azad

Congress General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad accused the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Central government of making CBI, Income Tax a medium to target the leaders of opposition parties.

He said that earlier the elections were contested by making campaign committee, but BJP now wants to confront opposition parties by resorting to these agencies. He said that as much as the BJP misuse the ED, CBI and income tax to scare the opposition, we are not afraid them and will contest the elections strongly.

While talkin to the reporters at UP Congress headquaters, he said it is not just Uttar Pradesh, but in all BJP ruled states the government is working to make people fight people in the name of religion and caste. The BJP is trying to polarize by creating communal atmosphere.

Responding to a question on the Bofors scam, he said that opening up the bofors case again is just ways to gain cheap popularity. Linking the name of former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi, with Bofors, after coming to power, the Prime Minister always scared and threatened by taking out papers from pockets that it has names of Bofors. But never seen any action in it.

In response to another question, he said that recently a meeting of opposition parties was held under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi. Almost all the leaders of the oppostion parties attended the meeting. He said that we want all the same ideology parties to work together.

Regarding the party president Rahul Gandhi’s team, he said that the new generation will get a chance in the new Congress president’s team. Soon there will be a new team will be announced.
