MAU: Dayashankar Singh, an expelled BJP leader was arrested for allegedly making derogatory comments against Mayawati, BSP president, was today released from jail, after a local court granted him bail.
Dayashankar, was trying to avoid being captured by the police after his remarks against Mayawati, was caught by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force from Buxar on July 29 and lodged in Mau jail.
After paying homage to a temple today morning, Dayashankar left for Lucknow.
BJP workers and a number of supporters were present at the jail premises, today morning.
The FIR was registered against Singh on July 20 under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other provisions.
national secretary of BSP Mewalal Gautam, had lodged the complaint against Singh for his alleged remarks in Mau on July 20, which hurt the feelings of BSP workers and the Dalit community across the country and were aimed at provoking them.
