Delhi govt to start aam aadmi bus service; opposition demands to change the name

Giving relief to the common man from crowded buses, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led Delhi government had decided to start ‘Aam Aadmi Bus Service’ in Delhi. However opposition has alleged of publicity stunt through the name of bus services.

The bus service between Uttam Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT will connect National Highway (NH) 1, NH 10 and NH 24. Earlier, the Delhi government started schemes like Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic and soon it would start subsidised food for citizen through ‘Aam Aadmi Canteen’.

The government claims that opposition is worried because of the efforts being made by the AAP government to improve the city infrastructure. “In the bus service we are not trying to promote party’s name but as the service is for the common man so it has been named after aam aadmi,” said Satyendra Jain, cabinet minister in AAP government.

Congress and BJP attacked the Delhi government for using its party name in the scheme just t gain publicity through the scheme. Even Congress claimed that susidised food scheme was initiated under Congress regime as ‘Jan Ahaar Yojna’ but now AAP is trying to convert it into Aam Aadmi Ki Canteen.
Leader of Opposition Vijendar Gupta have decided to knock the door of Election Commission of India to register complaint against AAP for using its party name in the government schemes
