Digvijaya Singh had earlier proposed the govt to ban SIMI and Bajrang Dal

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh post the event of the Bhopal encounter in which police killed eight SIMI activists after they allegedly escaped from a Bhopal jail, has claimed that he had earlier asked the Madhya Pradesh government to ban Bajrang Dal and SIMI but govt banned SIMI sparing the Hindu group.

Digvijaya Singh has suspected a conspiracy behind the encounter incident. He has demanded a through probe, the former chief minister, in a series of tweets, smells conspiracy, has raised questions whether the killed prisoners ‘escaped’ or were ‘made to escape’.

As per reports, the 8 alleged SIMI activists, who successfully broke the jail and escaped in the wee hours after killing a security guard at the Bhopal Central Jail, were hunted down and killed in a police encounter on the city outskirts.

On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will probe the jailbreak involving eight terrorists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

The Union Home Ministry has sought a detailed report from the Madhya Pradesh government on the jail break whether there was any lapse on the part of the jail administration and the steps taken to check such incidents.
