Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday announced he will set up round-the-clock women helpline to check crime against them.
He said special crime cells would be set up.
Thakur said the Chief Minister’s office would conduct day-to-day monitoring of the women-related cases and ensured action would be taken within 48 hours.
“There would be zero tolerance for crime against women,” he said.
He said stringent measures would also be taken to curb drug menace and corruption in the state, besides cyber crimes.
Thakur also sought cooperation from the state media, adding he was open for suggestions.
