IAS officer found dead in Lucknow

An IAS officer was found dead in mysterious circumstance on the roadside near Meerabai Guest House in Lucknow on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Anurag Tiwari who was a 2007 Karnataka cadre IAS officer hailing from Bahraich district. He was found dead near the state government-run Meerabai VIP Guest House. However, the reason for officer’s death is yet to be ascertained.

The police have sent the body for post-mortem, while the CCTV footages of the nearby areas are being taken to piece together moments before his death.

The Lucknow police have not provided any further details but it confirmed that the “death was suspicious”.
