In a bid to do better in harmony, Delhi follows UP close on heels

In an act of goodwill and understanding, following the example of Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Government, Delhi Government too decided to cancel public holidays on the birth and death anniversaries of eminent personalities.

Delhi’s deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia made the announcement in a series of posts on micro blogging site Twitter and also commended UP government’s initiative in scrapping the holidays awarded on account of eminent personalities, Sisodia on his part said that the government should learn from the good examples set by others.

A kind of attitude that sure needs to be appreciated and given a chance to prosper so the country can be run as a country and not as a group of states, mutual sense of learning and making better decisions is very important.

UP cabinet had on April 25 decided to cancel 15 public holidays on account of birth and death anniversaries of eminent personalities, instead colleges and schools will be teaching about these eminent personalities.
