Iran ready to reconstruct Mosul: Minister

Iranian Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh said Iran is ready to expand its relations with Iraq, especially in the reconstruction of the war-stricken city of Mosul.

Speaking at a signing of agreements with the Iraqi ministry of Industry and Minerals in Tehran on Sunday, Nematzadeh said Iran has good experience in creating industrial towns and is ready to construct them in Iraq and provide the necessary equipment wherever the Iraqi government needs them.

According to IRNA, Nematzadeh added that Iraq is in dire need of reconstruction and development, and that Iran is ready to help Iraq in building housing, roads, providing water and power supply, building sea harbors, public welfare centers, etc.

“I’m sure that Iraq is determined to reconstruct its war-torn cities, like Mosul, and we are willing to help. Iraq can count on Iran to develop its economic activities.”
