Litmus test for RJD-Congress grand alliance in upcoming Bihar by-polls

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress Party have come face-to-face over Bhabua assembly seat as by-polls for a Lok Sabha seat and two assembly seats in Bihar are scheduled for next month. Again shaky the efforts to unify the opposition across the country are in danger.

Bihar Congress Legislative leader Sadanand Singh made it clear on Tuesday that the even if RJD would also field its candidate on Bhabua seat, even then the Congress would field its candidate for upcoming by-polls.

After the RJD announced to contest elections on all three seats despite the alliance, he said that if a single party decides, it is not a coalition decision. I urge party high command that the party should also be allowed to field candidates here, this time we should test our own strengths.

Congress leader excited by the victory in Rajasthan by-elections challenged the RJD and said that Congress will now show its strength to the RJD too.

He said, “Every worker of Congress wants to contest the election in Bhabhua seat. We are in the position that we will be victorious despite being in the RJD field candidate on the Bhabhua seat.”
