A joint parliamentary session held at Central Hall of Parliament on Monday. This session was organised before the commencement of the budget session. Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were seat in first row and BJP leader LK Advani was sitting with them.

In this meeting before the budget session, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi were seated in the first row, but earlier in the Republic Day celebrations, Rahul Gandhi was given seat in the sixth row. Following which Congress accused BJP of playing low politics. After which BJP leaders organised press conference to give clarifcation on the issue.

During this joint session held in Central Hall, Lal Krishna Advani met former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, during which they had discussion on several issues. Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Ramdas Athawale also greeted Sonia Gandhi in the session. While on the other side, Union Minister Smriti Irani came to meet Advani, but she ignored Sonia Gandhi.

Notably, on Rahul Gandhi’s seat in sixth row, Senior Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad had said that, “Rahul Gandhi is not just a MP, he is also president of the Congress party. If the ruling party does not know the importance of this position, then it is unfortunate.”

After this, BJP spokesman GVL Narasimha Rao said that Rahul Gandhi is not fit to sit in the VVIP line, we still respect him.
