The Lok Gathbandhan Party (LGP) criticized the BJP government in UP for its utter failure in improving law and order situation after coming to power in the state nearly a year ago. The party said the state government has been making tall claims about improvement in the law and order situation but the ground realities are entirely different.
The spokesperson of the party said here on Thursday that the comments of Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu on Uttar Pradesh’s constantly deteriorating law and order situation and his advisory to the chief minister Yogi Adityanath to improve it, is in fact, a reflection of the people’s feelings, that are facing continuous crisis because of day by day increase in crime graph. The spokesperson said as compared to worst crime situation during previous Samajwadi Party regime, there has not been any significant improvement under the BJP’s dispensation. The spokesperson said incidents of back-to-back robbery and murder cases in Maliahabad and other suburban located exactly on the outskirts of Lucknow, are enough indication of the crime scenario and state police laxity in controlling it.
The spokesperson said the BJP had come to power on issues of precarious crime situation prevailing during SP government, bad governance and massive corruption but the BJP has rather miserably failed in making any change in this direction. The spokesperson said crime reports from other parts of the state indicate that the situation is almost same everywhere. The spokesperson said the BJP government hopes to invite entrepreneurs, as planned at next month much-publicized investors conference, is unlikely to yield any positive result, as in the past also investors stayed away from UP largely because of bad law order condition.
The spokesman said investors want peaceful and crime-free atmosphere which is conducive to do business, but neither the previous governments of BSP, SP nor the present BJP regime has made any progress in this connection. The LGP said the BJP’s slogan of “bullet for bullet” in controlling crime has been badly exposed as people are quite worried about the prevailing situation.
