Massive protests in Srinagar after 15 year old boy died with alleged pellet injuries

A massive demonstration was staged in Srinagar after body of a 15 year old boy was found with pellet injuries on Friday evening. To control the situation local forces imposed semi-curfew in the Harwan area of the city.

The deceased was identified as Momin Altaf was killed in the retaliation of security forces with pellet guns on protesters. However, the police denied that the boy died due to pellets as they fire it from a distance which could not have led death.

on Saturday morning scores of people participated in the funeral ceremony of Altaf. To disperse the protesters, tear gas shells were fired who were allegedly throwing stones on the police forces.

The local authorities have imposed restriction for entering the area as many tried to reach Srinagar has also been blocked to contain the unrest.

It has been more than two months since Kashmir is witnessing unrest after 22-year-old Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani was killed by security forces on July 8.
