Mehbooba appeals to PM Modi and Pakistan, do not make Kashmir an arena of battle

In the past few days, there has been an increase in the incidents of ceasefire violation from across the border, on which have raised the concerns of the Jammu and Kashmir government. Despite strict action by the Indian security forces, the nefarious activities of Pakistan are continuing in the border areas.

Things have turned like a war on the border since Wednesday. In the recent attacks on Indian security checkpoints and border villages by Pakistan, many jawans were martyred and scores of people were injured. However, Indian security forces also responded strict to the ceasefire violations and gunned down Pakistan army soldiers.

Expressing concern over the prevailing situation, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said on Sunday that on our borders, a bloodbath is taking place. The country is moving on the path of development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about this, but in our state, the situation is opposite. I request PM Modi and Pakistan to not make Jammu and Kashmir an arena of war but to develop it as a bridge of friendship.
