More than 35 people died leaving many injured at Quetta’s Civil Hospital after a bomb blast took place on Monday Morning.

As per Pakistani media reports, the lawyers in large number were injured due to the blast. A stampede ensued after the blast took place, causing chaos everywhere. A couple of minutes before the blast had taken place, the dead body of Bilal Anwar Kasi, the Balochistan Bar Association President who had been killed earlier in a firing incident. Sources claimed that among the dead, mostly were lawyers since several had been present inside the hospital when the blast had taken place.

The explosion took place at external gate of the Emergency Department of the hospital. A heavy contingent of police was rushed to the spot and area was cornered off. The relief and rescue work have been initiated at the site and the injured have been taken to other hospital for treatment.

It was also reported that a cameraman of a news channel was killed while other one was critically injured in the blast.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the bomb blast and also the murder of Bilal Anwar Kasi. Former president Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the bomb blast and expressed his grief at the loss of life in Quetta.
