Mumbai’s life line derailed, no casualties reported

Yet another accident was reported in Mumbai, where four coaches of a local train got derailed near Mahim railway station on Friday. However, no such casualties have reported the accident.

According to reports, the accident took place around 10 am during the peak hours. Getting the news of derailment the senior railway officials rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. This has hindered the movement of trains on the horbour line.

notably, in the last 15 days, this is third rail accident in the country. Earlier in Uttar Pradesh, two rail accidents occurred at Muzaffarnagar and Kanpur, in which more than 30 people were killed and a large number of people were injured.

Taking responsibility for train accidents, Chairman Railway Board Ashok Kumar Mittal resigned from his post, while Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has offered his resignation too.
