New guns in the arsenal of Indian Army soon

Larsen and Turbo or commonly known as L&T announced a contract with Korean firm Hanwha Techwin on Friday. This south Korean​ firm with collaboration with L&T will make Howitzers next year.

The contract worth’s whooping 4,500cr and that can increase in future according to its requirements. First 10 Howitzers will be made at engineering conglomerate’s in Talegaon near Pune. The rest of the Howitzers will be made in Gujarat.
Government is setting up a manufacturing facility in hazira, Gujarat. There will be a test track too. The gun will have 50% indigenous parts.
The Indian Army was looking for upgrade guns to counter terrorist activities near borders to make India safe and prosperous.
