Samajwadi Party leader questions media blackout on BJP defeat in recent by-polls

The results for Rajasthan and West Bengal by-elections were announced on Thursday in which the BJP faces massive defeat by the opposition. The media, which debated in the election results and also predict the outcome, but remained silent on the BJP’s defeat and no debate such was seen on channels.

Notably, Congress won in three seats in Rajasthan, while Trinamool Congress got a huge majority in West Bengal. However, the media remained silent on this defeat of BJP.

Speaking on this point, SP leader and spokesperson Pakhuri Pathak tweeted, “Has the docked media shown BJP’s big defeat in Rajasthan and Bengal or sidelined the issue by showing the loyalty?”

In the Alwar Lok Sabha seat of Rajasthan, Dr Karan Singh Yadav of Congress has defeated the BJP’s Jaiwant Singh Yadav with a margin of 96496 votes, while in the Ajmer Lok Sabha seat, Congress’s Raghu Sharma defeated BJP candidate with 84,414. In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress has won an assembly seat with more than 63,000 votes.
