Samajwadi Party plans to capture the municipal bodies in the state

After crushing defeat in assembly polls, the Samajwadi Party plans to capture the municipal bodies in the state. The party has invited applications for the party workers willing to contest by April 30.

Talking to Whatthebeep.in, SP Spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said, “We are going to contest civic polls on party symbol across the state for which applications have been invited from the people interested in fighting elections. All the applications coming are being directly monitored by our National President Akhilesh Yadav.”

When asked about any criteria for candidates, he said so far no criteria have been fixed for the candidature. “Let all the applications come to the party then we will decide rest of things in a pre-election meeting,” Chaudhary further said.

In the selection process, the candidates for Mayor and Nagar Palika Chairman would be finalized from SP state headquarters while the selection of corporators would be done at party’s district office.

On the other side Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Superemo Mayawati has also announced that her party will contest civic polls on party’s symbol.
