Shiv Sena quits NDA, decides to contest 2019 elections alone

Shiv Sena, the oldest ally of the BJP-led NDA, has now decided to contest the Lok Sabha elections and Assembly elections alone in 2019.

In an important meeting of the Shiv Sena held on Tuesday this decision was taken. Shiv Sena says that it always had to compromise to form an alliance with the BJP, but the BJP has always lowered it. The party now wants respect and dignity, so it has been decided to contest elections alone not in alliance with BJP.

This is not the first time when Shivsena has distance itself from the BJP. Earlier on several issues, Shiv Sena had targeted Prime Minister Modi and senior BJP leaders.
