Three dead after roof collapse in west Delhi

Delhi: Heavy rainfall claimed three lives after roof of two storied building collapsed in West Delhi. In the incident a mother and her two children have died.
As reported the victims were identified as Manju (26), daksh (5) and tannu (2). However, Manju’s husband was seriously injured in the incident who was later admitted at nearby hospital. Doctor say his condition is still critical.

Following the incident, Delhi Congress and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) blamed Delhi Jal Board (DJB) whereas Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) clarified that it was heavy rainfall due to which roof collapsed.

Public Works Minister Satyendra Jain visited the accident site and ordered a magisterial inquiry. The locals agitated as they were informed by South Delhi Municipal Corporation that DJB was doing some construction work in the colony.

State BJP president Satish Upadhyay expressed grief for the affected families and demanded for to lodged FIR against Delhi Jal Board’s Water Resources Minister Kapil Mishra and local AAP MLA Naresh Balyan for negligence. Congress leader Mukesh Sharma also visited the site and held BJP-ruled MCD, PWD and DJB responsible for the accident.

However, DJB has refuted all the allegations leveled by the political parties claiming that it had no role in the accident.
