BJP Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, who gained power after defeating Congress party by a tremendous margin in Uttarakhand elections last year, is now in the news for his expensive hospitality. An RTI disclosure has revealed that in just 11 months, the Uttarakhand government spent 68 lakh rupees in buying snacks for its guests.
This is revealed by RTI activist Hemant Singh of Uttrakhand by getting information through RTI. He had questioned how much has been spent on the guests’ reception since the day BJP formed a government in Uttarakhand. It was told in the RTI that since taking oath on March 18, Rs 68,59,865 has been spent on the reception of guests. Under this, they were served refreshments and snacks.
Now, at such a huge expenditure of the government, people are questioning the Chief Minister on social media.
Notably, in the 70-member Uttarakhand assembly, BJP won 57 seats, after which Trivenendra Rawat took oath as the Chief Minister.
