A day after his “Khaat Panchayat” when everyone was making fun of Rahul Gandhi over the incident in which farmers had taken away the cots soon after his sabha, he attacked the opposition by saying “If a poor farmer takes away a cot, you call him a thief, but when big industrialists like Vijay Mallya flee with thousands of crores of rupees, you call them defaulters. That is the difference”.

Eyeing the Uttar Pradesh elections, he is holding roadshows and door-to-door campaigns, and is constantly attacking PM Modi in his speeches and discussions.
Recently, during a roadshow in Gorakhpur, he attacked the PM by saying, “Modi ji, if you want to run a suit-boot ki sarkar, you do that. We cannot stop it. But when you can waive off the debts of big industrialists, why don’t you write off the debts of poor farmers? Why don’t you help the poor and the weak?”
But, time will tell whether these roadshows and “Khaat Panchayats” will help his party in the upcoming elections, or those like the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, where these campaigns would be a failure.
